The most common question and reviews of Cnet.com is : "What laptop should I buy?" Being a generally difficult person by nature, I usually respond with my own series of questions: "What size screen do you want? How much do you want to spend?" and so on. But sometimes people just want a simple suggestion, based on what I actually like. So, here is a jargon-free list of the current crop of laptops that I'm digging, either because they give you good bang for your buck, they excel in their specific category, or because they just plain rock.

1. Apple MacBook Pro Spring 2010 (Core i7 2.66GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 15-inch)

Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro keeps the same look and feel, but offers major internal changes, including an optional Intel Core i7 CPU, making it a very serious portable powerhouse.

2. Toshiba Portege R705-P25
Toshiba's Portege R series has always impressed, and the new 13-inch Portege R705 is close to a perfect balance of design, price, and performance.

3. HP Envy 17
Though it's still in the upper ranges of current laptop prices, HP's upscale-feeling Envy 17 offers great hardware at a decent price.

4. Samsung QX410-J01

Slickly designed and amply featured, the Samsung QX410 looks and plays the part of a more expensive high-end laptop at a price that's a solid value.

5. Dell XPS 15

Dell's new line of XPS laptops, including the XPS 15, offers more bang for the buck than most, combining great audio and rock-solid features for less than $1,000.

The Dell Inspiron One 2305 (IO2305-3114MSL) ($849.99 list), available at Best Buy, is an all-in-one touchscreen desktop PC with a large 23-inch widescreen display. It has a 1080p HD display, wireless everything, decent design, and an attractive sub $900 price. However, it's a little sluggish on most functions, particularly the multimedia tasks like photo and video work that would look great on such a large screen. Maybe with a little more power and a more features, the Inspiron One could be a contender, but not this configuration.

Design and Features
The Inspiron One 2305 looks like most other all-in-one PCs—basically it looks like a widescreen monitor. It takes after the HP TouchSmart 600 series and Gateway One ZX series, using two posts on the front and a spring-loaded arm in the back to position the screen. The system is slightly raised so you can slide the wireless keyboard under the system for out-of-the-way storage. The lack of under-chassis storage is one of the drawbacks of designs like the Lenovo IdeaCentre B305 ($949 list, 3.5 stars) and B500 ($1,399 direct, 4 stars). One odd design quirk is that the tray-loading DVD burner is on the left side of the panel. Most other all-in-one PCs have the optical drive on the right side.

The bright 23-inch screen has a 1,920 by 1,080 resolution, so it can display full 1080p HD content. 1080p movie trailers from YouTube played smoothly and loaded quickly over the 802.11n network we have in PC Labs. Unfortunately, the IO2305 doesn't include a Blu-ray drive or TV tuner, so online videos are the limit of your HD entertainment. The 750GB (7,200rpm) hard drive will supply you with plenty of space to accumulate a healthy library of videos.

The IO2305 has a built-in speaker bar and THX TruStudio sound logo on the speaker. Even with the THX certification, however, the speakers can't match the full sound of a dedicated full-range speaker system. They are adequate for quiet room listening, but quickly distort on bass-heavy electronica like The Knife's "Silent Shout," one of our stock testing tracks. If you want better sound, you can hook up external speakers or headphones using the system's two analog audio jacks.

The IO2305 comes with Dell's first touch screen interface, Dell Stage. While you'll enjoy multimedia with the touch interface, there isn't enough integration between the Stage modules and the rest of Windows. Sure you can drop sticky notes or set web browser shortcuts in Dell Stage, but once you click on that tile, the computer still kicks you out into Internet Explorer. Specific touch programs are limited to a few games (including a few neat musical instrument programs), CinemaNow for movies, and Microsoft's Surface Touch apps. In contrast, HP's TouchSmart interface is up to version 4.0, and cleanly integrates online and multimedia features like Netflix, Hulu, Rhapsody, Facebook, Twitter, and other downloadable apps like a Marvel Comics reader. The Dell Stage interface allows you to upload pics to Facebook, but the HP TouchSmart interface lets you browse, socially network, and post to Facebook as well.

There's no bloatware, trialware, or unwanted software that retailers and system makers tend to dump all over a retail system. The only "extra" program is the Best Buy app, which is like an online software store. I like the Best Buy app, because you have to actively search and download software onto your system (a much better usage model). Thanks to Best Buy, the system comes with a six-month subscription to McAfee Internet Security, which is much better than the 30- to 90-day subscriptions on some PCs, but still I'd like to see the 15 months that Dell offers on its build-to-order systems.

Performance
The IO2305 comes with an economical AMD Athlon II X2 250U processor running at a nettop-like 1.6GHz speed and integrated ATI Radeon HD 4270 graphics. The Radeon HD 4270 graphics chipset is also used in laptops, so it's designed mainly for power saving and thermal limits rather than all-out 3D power. Because of these low-power parts, performance on our benchmark tests is poky. The IO2305 took a leisurely 5 minutes 36 seconds to complete our Handbrake video encoder test and almost 11 minutes to complete the Photoshop CS5 test (10:56). Both tests take over twice as long as our class-leading all-in-one desktop, the Apple iMac 21.5-inch (Core i3) ($1,199 list, 4 stars) (2:29 Handbrake, 4:21 CS5). The IO2305 wasn't able to complete the Lost Planet 2 DX11 test (Radeon HD 4270 is a DX10 part), but the system finished the Crysis test with single-digit frame rates. It can run DX10 3D games and programs, just not very well. Then again, keep in mind that you won't be buying these less expensive all-in-one systems to play high-end games; they're really meant for multimedia tasks. The IO2305's PCMark Vantage score of 3,134 points was middling as well.

The performance carried over into the touch screen interface as well. The IO2305 took longer to open programs like Microsoft Surface Globe and the overall wait time between calling up a program in Dell Stage to when it opens is pretty long. It might not bother someone who has never used a PC's touch interface, but sitting side by side with a faster desktop like the Lenovo IdeaCentre B305 or HP TouchSmart 310, the difference is seen and felt.

At $850, the Dell Inspiron One 2305 is less expensive than the $949 Lenovo B305 and $1,159 HP TouchSmart 310, but you get what you pay for. The Dell's touch software feels like a "version 1.0" and the system exhibits sluggish performance all around. The HP 310 and Lenovo B305 have better features that justify the expense, like HDTV tuners and quad-core AMD processors that make up for their smaller 20- and 21.5-inch screens. None of these systems have Blu-ray at this price point. The Editors' Choice for all-in-one desktops remains the Apple iMac 21.5-inch (Core i3), for its overall performance and multimedia prowess. The Dell Inspiron One 2305 is one of the least expensive touchscreen PCs out there, but while you're waiting for something to load you may start to reconsider your purchase.

Apple's answer to Microsoft Office is the iWork suite of applications, and Pages is the word processing program component of iWork. While many of the features found in Pages are similar to those of other word processing programs, some features are exclusive to it. The more time you spend using and exploring Pages, the greater understanding you will have of what it can do.

Windows Compatibility
Pages works well with Windows documents, even though it is a Mac-only program. Open files in DOC, DOCX, RTF and TXT format by dropping them on the "Pages" icon in the Dock. Save files in DOC or other formats by clicking on the "File" menu and selecting "Export."
Alignment Lines
As you move objects in Pages, lines appear that snap the object into perfect alignment with the other objects and the page. To disable this feature, hold down the "Command" key as you move the object.
Multiple "Inspector" Windows
The "Inspector" window gives you access to a wide range of features, including page layout, formatting, text, graphics and tables. The features are organized into tabs. If you want to have immediate access to tabs without shuffling between them, open multiple tabs by holding down the "Option" key while you click on one of the tabs.
Password Protection
Protect the privacy of your documents by requiring users to enter a password before opening it. Enable this feature from the "Document" tab of the "Inspector" window, at the bottom.
Change-Tracking and Comments
Pages allows you to track the revisions made to a document by different authors. Turn on this feature in the "Edit" menu. Activating tracking reveals the "Track Changes" toolbar and your options for reviewing. Select a portion of text and click the "Comment" icon at the top of the window to add comments to the document. You have the option of changing the color of the comment in the "Inspector" window.

If your laptop battery dies while away from a power source, you can quickly end up stranded with a dead and useless machine. Computing mobility might be a frivolous "want" to the casual user, such as a music or movie enthusiast; however, students and professionals need adequate battery power in laptops for learning and work-related purposes. If you have Windows, you can monitor and be alerted to battery power levels, similar to dashboard functionality in modern automobiles.
Instructions

  1. Click on the icon for the battery by the system time on the taskbar. Select "More Options" from the pop-up menu.
  2. Click "Change Plan Settings" for the power plan currently in use, as indicated by the radio button.
  3. Click "Change Advanced Power Settings."
  4. Scroll down to find "Battery" in the dialog box. Click the plus sign "+" to expand it.
  5. Click the expand the subcategories under Battery. Decide on and select the options you prefer for monitoring. For example, select "On" under "Low Battery Notification."
  6. Click "Apply" and "OK" when all of the selections have been made.

Almost everyone must have heard today about Google's Android operating system are well known, although it provides interesting features as far as the level of integration with various Google services is concerned, still less popular than other similar operating systems, like Symbian or Windows Mobile. However, its potential is far more impressive, considering the fact that it can easily run on x86 systems.

For Android OS running on your computer, you can choose two different methods: a very easy (use a CD boot Live CD, which means that you must burn the image file to CD Android OS) and a little more difficult (to use a virtual machine that runs on your computer, which, however, far more interesting, because it does not involve a reboot, so no need to bother using the CD).

And below are the details of the methods mentioned above:

Method 1: Burn Live CDs

Step 1 - Download the two parts of the Live CD. ISO here Part 1, Part 2
Step 2 - Combine the two segments into one using a special application (author recommends HJSplit to combine image files).
Step 3 - Burn the iso file to a blank CD using your favorite disc burner (I use Nero 6 "Burn image files to Disc").
Step 4 - Reboot the computer (make sure that the CD-ROM is placed in the boot HDD in the boot device list).
Step 5 - Wait a minute to load (Live CD splash screen Android will probably take a while) and then voila! You've got Google's Android operating system running without any problems on your computer.

Method 2: Running Android OS on a virtual machine on your computer

While this second method is a bit more difficult than the first, it is also far more profitable, because it will allow you to run other applications at the same time with the Android.

The first thing you should do is install an application virtual machine, if you do not have one already installed. For example, the authors are using Sun's VirtualBox, simply because it provides network support without forcing us to play around more with the settings and the command prompt.

In addition, you also have to install an optical drive emulator software to get a LiveCD running in a virtual machine (of course, that depends on the virtual machine you use. I use Daemon Tools Lite)

Here are the steps you must follow to be able to run Android from your own computer directly. This is a common step rough, but the authors are so confident you'll get the hang of pretty quickly.

Step 1 - Download the two parts of the Live CD. ISO file from a web page android (link provided above).
Step 2 - Combine the two segments into one using a special application (hjsplit link included above).
Step 3 - Download and install the
Sun's VirtualBox.
Step 4 - Download and install the CD / DVD emulator.
Step 5 - Mounting the LiveCD image to a CD / DVD emulator.
Step 6 - Create a new virtual machine using virtualization software (For good results allocate at least 256MB of RAM, while the HDD space is not so important, but must have at least a few hundred MB).
Step 7 - In the virtualization software, select the virtual drive on the LiveCD image that has been mounted as boot drives.
Step 8 - Create a virtual machine.

After completing step 8, the virtual machine started to boot up. There, you will be able to access the Android OS, although there are fitur2 diminished.

However, the LiveCD is mostly aimed at developers, who actually have to make application for this operating system, so that normal users will not benefit too much from it, regardless of the possibility for a closer look at what they should expect from a Google-based OS.

I often get asked what is a computer virus, how does it differ from a worm or Trojan and how do they get into my computer? Please find below my article, giving you a brief explanation of these terms and how easily they can infect your system.

What is a Computer Virus?

Computer viruses are annoying at best and can be extremely destructive at worst. A computer virus is a piece of code which can attach itself to one of your files or programs, enabling it to spread to other computers infecting as it goes. This causes damage to files, software and hardware.

Computer viruses can range in severity in the same way as an organic virus. With an organic virus, unless kept in complete isolation, it usually spreads through human interaction. The difference is, (other than the obvious) a computer virus needs human interaction to enable it to spread, such as sending an email or sharing a file.

What is a Worm?

Similar to a virus, a worm is designed to copy itself across computers, but the horror is that it does this automatically.

It does this by taking control of features on a computer that transport files and information. Once on your system they have the ability to replicate in great numbers, very quickly. One of the things that they are famous for, is sending out copies to everyone in your address book and if the recipient is unaware, it will do the same to theirs.

They have the potential to cause heavy traffic, clogging networks and in extreme cases slowing down the entire internet.

So if you are waiting twice as long for pages to load, this could well be a possible cause.

What is a Trojan?

As in the Trojan horse of Greek mythology, which appeared to be a gift, but actually contained soldiers, Trojans appear to be useful software. Unfortunately, they often arrive as an email attachment, usually appearing to be from a legitimate source, but when opened lead to a trail of destruction. They can also be present in free software that you may download, so beware!

What is Malware?

Malware is a term that is used to describe "malicious software" programs. The things that are included in this are spyware, adware, and cookies.

What is Spyware and Adware?

It has been estimated that 90% of all computers on the internet are infected with some type of spyware.

Spyware refers to programs that can use your internet connection to send information, normally without your permission or knowledge, to another computer. The information that it then gathers could be a record of your browsing habits. This can include things that you have downloaded and even personal information such as your name and address.

There are different types of spyware which perform different functions. Some may change your home page, producing pop up personal ads, even if you are not online, and may even high-jack your browser, taking you to an unexpected site. Spyware that serves you personalized ads is also known as adware.

Some free software or programs have spyware included. Some of the more legitimate programs mention in their terms and conditions, that they may gather information, although most people do not tend to read this. However, spyware does not have to come bundled in a program. It is most commonly installed surreptitiously, often in the form of a pop up, or asking you to install a plug in, to enable you to display the site correctly. Spyware can use the local resources of your computer, such as processor and memory power, as well as some of your internet bandwidth.

So if your computer:

* slows to a crawl
* if you click on a link to a site and you end up at another site, due to your browser having been hijacked,
* you enter a search and received an unexpected result
* you get pop up ads that address you by name from a site that you haven't visited
* you click on your home page and it takes you to a new site and when you try and switch back the same site appears again,

Then you probably have been infected with some form of Malware.

One of the worst and most unpredictable problems we have with our computers today is disk failure or loss of information by formatting a drive. No matter if it's something you accidentally deleted or if your drive begins developing bad sectors, you usually find out too late that there are problems.

Now unless you were one of the few people that backed up the information on their computer often, I'm sure you're about ready to panic at this point. No matter if it's family photo's, work or other important information, without any type of backup if you lost that hard drive much of that information is not replaceable. But there is a way for you to recover the information on your disk drive through the use of hard drive recovery software.

This is possible because when you delete something on your hard drive, the information is not really erased. Instead the information is marked as "expendable". This way if something requires that room on your hard drive, you computer knows it can write over the existing data.

Now to ensure that your information is not written over, data recovery software will either create a CD/DVD or sometimes the programs can even use a thumb drive to store important information. Either way, running the program off of these options instead of your PC keeps all of the information on your disk drive intact, deleted or not.

The other option to doing it this way is to take it to the local computer repair shop and have them look over your disk drive. Generally though, they use the same type of software you can purchase from your own home, just a professional version with more options. But unless you know what you're doing with all the advanced settings, it's best you just you get the personal version to recover data from a formatted hard drive.

Once you start running the process be prepared to give the software plenty of time so that it can properly go through your hard drive and recover the files necessary. And make sure that those files are saved are backup to a secondary drive. That way you will avoid problems with the data just ending back up on the same hard drive.

Once your information is safe, you can then start the process of determining if the data is salvageable. Just remember to make back up's whenever you can. And for those situations where you can't, you'll be prepared to do some drive data recovery. If you want to get your data back from a formatted hard drive download data recovery software to do it yourself and instead of losing everything.

You'll be happy to know that just about any desktop PC can support a wireless internet connection. Even older desktops can connect to the internet via a wireless internet connection.
First, make sure your desktop PC is in good working order. What I mean by good working order is just to make sure the desktop PC is free of unwanted spyware and other harmful files which could make a desktop computer's wireless connection slow down to a crawl. If you plan on making an older desktop PC wireless then you should really scan your computer for spyware and infections because the last thing you want is something stealing all your system resources when you don't have very much to begin with.

WHATS NEEDED TO MAKE DESKTOP PC WIRELESS
Let's start by assuming you already have an internet service (not dial-up) and are cruising the web with ease. You should have a cable modem connected to your desktop PC. If this is the case, then you're ready to begin your wireless setup. If you don't have an existing internet service and a cable modem then you'd better stop reading this because a wireless internet connection on your desktop PC can't be accomplished legally without them.

MAKING PC WIRELESS - WIRELESS ROUTER
First, before anything, you need to purchase a wireless router. If you've never owned a wireless router before then grabbing the most expensive model probably won't benefit you all that much unless you plan on receiving a wireless internet connection from inside of a multiple story building. In this case a more expensive router will offer a few features that are worth the extra money.
Remember when you go ahead and purchase a wireless router in hopes of making your desktop computer wireless you'll be happy to know that you'll be halfway done with your mission for wireless internet on your desktop. The only thing left is a wireless PC adapter.

MAKING PC WIRELESS - WIRELESS DESKTOP ADAPTERS
It's actually very easy to add a wireless desktop adapter to your comupter's arsenal of computing tools. There are two different types of wireless networking components that you can choose from. They are as follows.

  1. Wireless USB adapter
  2. Wireless PCI adapter
[both wireless devices are packaged with a setup CD-ROM which quickly installs everything needed to configure and use your PC's wireless internet connection.]

A wireless USB adapter is the easiest way to make a desktop PC wireless. The cons of using a wireless USB adapter are the signal strength which is considerably weaker than a wireless PCI card. Most people experience no problems with signal strength as long as they stay within range of the wireless router that's sending out the wireless signal.
Basically, installing a wireless USB adapter plugs into any available USB port. In reality, it only takes a matter of seconds to plug in a USB adapter and start using the internet without the wires.
The second wireless device that can make desktop computers wireless is called a wireless PCI (PCI = white slots inside a computer) card adapter. This device enables high performance wireless connectivity for your desktop PC with extended range.
Installation is not as hard as you might have thought. Simply remove the side panel from your desktop PC and insert the wireless PCI card into any one of the white slots inside. There is only one way the card can be installed. Reading the directions that are included when you purchase your wireless networking device is by far the best thing you can do to ensure a smooth installation and launch of your wireless connection.

What is System Defragmenter?
System Defragmenter is a noxious program that imitates a computer optimization tool that scans computer system and detects disc problems. This rogue application is installed to random computers through malware infections and uses typical methods in order to trick computer users and rip them off by selling a fake program.
Right when System Defragmenter is downloaded and installed to computer, it is enabled to be run each time Windows is started. As a consequence, you will experience tons of unwanted actions on your system, such as displaying fake alerts that warn about hardware failure, etc. The warnings read:

  • Critical Error, Hard Drive not found. Missing hard drive.
  • Critical Error, RAM memory usage is critically high. RAM memory failure.
  • Critical Error, Windows can't find hard disk space. Hard drive error
  • Critical Error!, Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Private data is at risk.
  • Critical Error!, Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \System32\496A8300. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware.
  • Critical Error, A critical error has occurred while indexing data stored on hard drive. System restart required.
  • System Restore, The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.
System Defragmenter also pretends to scan infected computer system and reports about some disc errors which in fact are absolutely fake. However, the program will attempt to convince you to find a bunch of problems on your system. Here are a few examples of the messages you can receive after System Defragmenter finishes its scan:

  • Read time of hard drive clusters less than 500 ms
  • 32% of HDD space is unreadable
  • Hard drive does not respond to system commands
  • Bad sectors on hard drive or damaged file allocation table
  • Drive C initializing error and many more...
Do not take these notifications for granted under any circumstances as SystemDefragmenter doesn't have any properties of a legitimate optimization tool. You are strongly adviced to remove System Defragmenter as soon as possible instead of trusting any information it provides.

 System Defragmenter removal Screen Shots

Important Note: Although it is possible to manually remove System Defragmenter, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators. For other users, we recommend using Reimage Repair or other malware and spyware removal.

Don't let yourself be misled through all the items available on the market declaring to fix your computer registry, some of them are just totally spy-ware as well as computer virus loaded - delaying your computer down even more. Registry Easy differs from every other product I've ever seen - which is why I chose this to correct my computer registry as well as why I'm composing this short article, to let as numerous individuals learn about this as possible so that people conserve money and time.

Registry Easy differs from any other registry cleaner I've ever seen. This includes a start-up inspector. Anytime applications are automatically launched on start-up this slows down the PC, so that as you'd expect, every piece of software you've on your computer want to run on start-up, so that you can make use of the product quickly. Online training software is a great tool for companies who do not have a dedicated staff training specialist or those with satellite offices that function apart from the company's headquarters. These programs enable new employees or those who are switching positions to get the training they need anytime, at their own pace. If you are looking for a new way to complete employee training, this software can help.

Most software will take employees through a standardized set of tutorials. This ensures that each member of your staff has received uniform training and has learned the information that they must to do their job properly. In some industries, this uniformity in training is required by law, and automated software makes it easier to be sure that you have satisfied your legal requirements.

As training may not be closely monitored, tests can be administered at the end of each chapter of the training session. These exams, often multiple choice, are designed to make sure that the employee has gleaned the information they will need from each session. Results may be shared with managers or human resources, and tests that are failed may be retaken with the company's permission.

When not using a dedicated employee to conduct training sessions, there is no need to wait and conduct training in a group setting. Instead, individuals may use online training software anytime they require it, freeing human resources professionals and managers up to take care of other duties. It will also save money on the travel that is often required when trainers must commute from one satellite office to another, allowing them to operate from one, central location.

If you are charged with managing a large workforce, or one that is spread across a few different locations, online training software will allow you to give them the information they need, wherever they are located. These packages are a small investment that can save time and money over the long run.

If you have a slow running computer you do not have to sit there and put up with it. There are some easy steps you can take to prevent this issue and to make your computer run faster.

You can do this as well without having to call a technician out or take your computer to a repair shop every few months to fix the same thing over and over. You can do this yourself and get a faster computer and save money. Here is how you can do this.

#1 All of us have software on our system which is never even used or we no longer use. They only end up eating up valuable system memory and hard drive space with clutter. The best practice is to uninstall this software and get rid of it forever. But this should be done properly and the best way is to make use of the add and remove programs in your Control Panel. This is by far the best way to clean up your system and remove the programs you want to. You would then have the added advantage of more free hard disk space and this is the first step to fix a slow running computer.

#2 The Windows disk defragmenter is a powerful tool that can help organize your files properly so that you can access them with ease and retrieve information faster and arrange all your files in order. After running the first step there will be a lot more space on your computer and files and folders spread out all over. You need to run this step to organise all the files and folders and speed up your slow running computer.

#3 An effective antivirus program is an absolute necessity as a virus affected system becomes slow and eventually stops functioning properly and your personal information and financial data is at risk. Perform a full system scan. Running a quick scan will not scan the whole system.

#4 A system and registry scanner can automatically repair Windows file and registry errors which result in a slow running computer. All you need to do is to download a system and registry scanner and run it. It does everything for you automatically and can get rid of all the errors fast.

Once this is done your files and folders and running programs will be optimized for the best performance. If you have a slow running computer scan it now and improve computer performance right away without having to spend hundreds of dollars on a technician.

It is no doubt guest blogging is one of the best ways to get traffic to your blog and having written over 260 guest posts this year I can testify to the power and effectiveness of guest blogging.

Guest blogging has a lot of advantages and there is no doubt that is why many people keep doing it, the problem however is that the guest posts of a lot of people get rejected thereby bringing about frustration for them. Below are 5 solid ways to make sure your guest post is published.

1. Read the Guidelines

This is so obvious, isn’t it? If I told you I have lost thousands of guest posting traffic and countless opportunities as a result of this you wouldn’t believe me.
I once wrote a guest post for a blog which was rejected because I didn’t meet the guidelines, the next guest post I wrote for that blog months after the first one was rejected was published and it end up sending me over 1,000 visitors.
Many people believe there is no need to read the guidelines before submitting their guest posts and that this is only a waste of time. You don’t know what a blogger wants. Even though a blog might be about blogging the blogger might only be accepting guest posts on SEO so it is very important to make sure you read the guidelines first.
Another reason why you should read the guidelines first is that it helps you know what length of post the blogger wants and also some other things that is different about guest posting for the blog.

2. Read Previous Guest Posts
Another thing you should do to also make sure your guest post get published is to read previous guest posts on the blog. I once tried to submit a guest post to A-list blogger Daniel Scocco, all my guest posts were rejected so I decided to see which type of guest posts get published and I discovered list posts works best, I wrote another guest post titled “10 things bloggers should not do” and it was published.
Reading guest posts that have been previously published on a blog helps you have a feel of the type of posts that get published on that blog thereby giving you the chance of tailoring your guest posts towards that mode.

3. Focus on Your Headlines
Another important thing you should note when trying to write a guest post is your headline; don’t just think your post will be published with any headline.
One thing I discovered from writing a lot of guest posts is that even if your post isn’t that okay, if you have a great headline the blogger will tell you to re-write the post or improve on it instead of rejecting it.
Another reason why you should write great headlines is that your headline will determine how viral your post will go, and the better your headline is, the more traffic you get from your guest posts.

4. Give Your Best
Once you have done the above 3 things, the next thing to do is to begin writing your guest post and it is very important to give your best.
Many people think the best content should only be for their blog and they should write crap for other blogs, this will not yield any good, it will only lead to your guest post being rejected.
Guest posting opportunities shouldn’t be taken lightly and the more effort you can put into your guest posts the more results you will get from it, if you give your best in a guest post and it seriously went viral on a blog, the blogger will end up contacting and thanking you for it while giving you an open door to submit as many guest posts as you want in the future.

5. Submit Your Guest Post
Sounds dumb? I know, but it is the truth. One problem many people face with guest blogging is that they are afraid to submit their guest posts and that is why you see them not submitting a guest post or submitting only to smaller blogs. It doesn’t take much to get your guest post published on an A-list blog, what it takes is following the above 4 steps and having the courage to submit the post. Don’t let your fear kill you before contacting the blogger, relax, believe it will be published and go ahead to submit it.
Conclusion
Guest blogging is fun and the results you will get from it alone is enough to keep you doing it, the above are 5 great steps to follow to make sure your guest posts gets published.

Blogging is fun, isnt it  :)

Minimize Background Applications and Services

Press CTRL-ALT-DEL while in Windows and bring up the Task Manager . Notice how many programs are running in the background. Each program steals memory and CPU cycles. Offenders include: Adobe Gamma Loader, Fast Find, msmsgs (Messenger), Office Startup, qttask (Quicktime), System Agent, Real Player, Norton. To stop programs from automatically starting, remove the file from the Programs - Startup folder, left click on the icons in the System tray and turn off automatic loading, or consult the help file of each program to turn it off. Run MSCONFIG to get a list of programs that run on startup and remove unnecessary ones.

Disable Alerter, File and Print, FTP Publishing, Indexing Service, World Wide Web Publisher, Messenger, Computer Browser, Routing and Remote Access, Smart Card, Smart Card Helper, Terminal services, Uninterruptible Power Supply if they are not being used. You can always turn them off and test your machine, before setting them to be disabled on startup. Run "services.msc" from the Run.. menu and Disable any services that are unncessary. BlackViper has additional information on services.

You can also Configure Virus scanning to only scan incoming files.

Removed Unused Programs, Protocols, and Fonts

Uninstall any Programs that you do not use. Also remove any Fonts that are not used. This will free up disk space and make the machine boot faster. You should also remove any temporary files located in the C:\TEMP, c:\windows\prefetch, or C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directories. Also remove any unused Network Protocols such as NetBEUI or IPX.

Unload DLLs

Windows does not unload dll files a program has used after it has been closed, to speed up a possible restart of the program.
Use Regedit to edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer Add the DWORD value named: AlwaysUnloadDLL and set it to 1

Any suggestion for me ?
