US handset manufacturer Motorola has unveiled its anticipated Milestone 2 mobile phone.
The new phone, which features Texas Instrument’s 1GHz OMAP3630 processor, which also powers Motorola’s Droid X phone, includes new Android 2.2 operating system (Froyo), allowing 720p (1280×720-pixel) video recording.
However, thanks to Android 2.2, the Milestone 2 can act as a 3G hotspot for up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The unit comes with 8GB of internal memory but Motorola will also ship it with an 8GB MicroSD card (the Milestone 2 supports MicroSD cards up to 32GB in capacity).
It’s DLNA capable and also includes Adobe Flash 10.1 ready to go. You also get the full suite of Google apps, including Android Market for over 100,000 applications.
The phone will be released in Australia in December through Vodafone and Optus networks.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
